Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day- Wednesday, September 27th is a special day! Students may dress like their favorite character from a book. Students must be able to tell us which character and what book they are from. There will be prizes for costumes and all who dress up will be put in a drawing for a prize as well. Remember that all costumes still need to follow School policy (Pg 52 in student handbook.) Please no face masks, makeup, weapons or scary things.
Please send in stickers, tape, washi tape,duct tape, etc… to decorate your child's writing journal. Please send it in by Wednesday, 9/27.

Looking Ahead
Language Arts: Next week we will work on week 2 of fundations. We will continue to review digraphs and learn about the different types of syllables. We will be taking our unit 1 assessment on Monday October 2nd. In grammar we will be understanding different types of sentences, focusing on exclamations, commands, and interjections. We will jump into Daily 5 rotations and continue to review our expectations. e
Math: In math we will be finishing up chapter 1. We will be taking our first math celebration on Monday October 2nd.
Religion: we will continue to understand gratitude and begin to review the sacraments.
Social Studies: we will continue to review maps and discuss globes.

Tidbits
Please send in a snack and water bottle with your child each day.
Every Friday will be a spirit wear day. That means your child will need to wear a shirt that has School of the Incarnation on it. If your child wears an outfit with just the school colors that is not considered Spirit wear.
Keep an eye out for your local parishes Reconciliation classes that start in October. Please send us you child's parish where they will be receiving their sacraments.

Please remember to sign your child's homework or give some indication that you checked it for a name and completion before sending it in!
Fundations Tapping
To do this the students tap their fingers on their thumb for each sound they hear in a word . For example’”ship”-they would do 3 taps for the 3 sounds(sh-i-p). They would then curl their fingers and say the word-ship.
